Legendary Polish Tenor
BOGDAN PAPROCKI
It was no coincidence that the First Nationwide Bogdan Paprocki Vocal Competition took place in November 2019. That autumn, on September 23, marked the centenary of the birth of an outstanding Polish singer — a legendary tenor regarded as the unrivalled interpreter of Moniuszko’s operatic roles. Bogdan Paprocki, a native of Toruń, was a soloist of the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw. For 60 consecutive seasons, he appeared on its stage without interruption, performing 50 roles and taking part in 2,800 performances.
